Scraps transformed into art
With a background in machine work, welding and stone masonry, Shane built a forge about 10 years ago in the Mountains of North Carolina. Using materials on hand, he began making tools and parts. As an outdoorsman, he has always enjoyed nature's beauty. Eventually, in addition to tools and other parts, he also started creating
nature-inspired art from scrap steel to give as gifts to family and friends. He now enjoys creating one of a kind pieces for everyone.
By carefully studying the form of plants and animals, he works to replicate that appearance in his work- ultimately transforming hard rough scrap steel into natural, organically formed art.
